Ronald Patrick Ryan

TICONDEROGA — Ronald Patrick "Pat" Ryan, 66, of Streetroad, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga.

Born in Saranac Lake, April 15, 1937, he was the son of the late D. Walter and Anne Bernice (Campbell) Ryan.

Pat grew up in Saranac Lake and was a 1955 graduate of Saranac Lake High School.

He was employed by J.J. Newberry’s as store manager for many years. Prior to transferring from Maine to Ticonderoga, with Newberry’s, he met his wife, the former Carole M. Lachance. The couple were married on Aug. 31, 1963, and have resided in Ticonderoga ever since.

He also managed the National Army Store in Ticonderoga, and most recently was merchandiser for the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Keeseville until his retirement in 2001.

Pat was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ticonderoga.

He was a member of the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce and the local downtown Merchants Association. He was a member of the St. Isaac Jogues Council #333 Knights of Columbus of Ticonderoga.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., having served during the Korean War, and was a member of the Marine Corp. League.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Carole M. (Lachance) Ryan; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly R. and David D. Davies of Victor; one brother, Walter J. Ryan of Captiva Island, Fla.; two sisters, Audrey A. Maloney of Fayetteville, and Marilyn C. Clement of Saranac Lake; and one granddaughter, Danielle M. Davies of Victor. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
